Transcription is the conversion of a representation of Hebrew into another representation of Hebrew, the same language just in a different form. Transliteration is the romanization attempts to transliterate the original script, the guiding principle is a one-to-one mapping of characters from Hebrew into the Latin script, with less emphasis on how the result sounds when pronounced according to English. Each romanization process has its own set of rules for pronunciation of the romanized words, which is the case with our Hebrew converter above.
